blooming flower mandala necklace with labradorite

This one-of-a-kind design features a hand-cut brass flower, which I hand-etched with an intricate flower mandala design. A polished labradorite cabochon is nestled within a brass bezel. Finished with a recycled .22 bullet casing, which I decorated with elegant brass filigree and a matching Swarovski gemstone. A faceted multi-colored Egyptian quartz point fills the bullet casing. Pendant measures approximately 4.25 inches long and is very lightweight. Finished with a 27-inch long brass chain.

Labradorite is a member of the Feldspar family and is treasured for its remarkable play of color, known as labradorescence. It was discovered in Labrador, Canada, by Moravian missionaries in 1770 who named it for the area. Lore of the Inuit peoples claim Labradorite fell from the frozen fire of the Aurora Borealis, an ordinary stone that transforms to the extraordinary, shimmering in a mystical light that separates the waking world from unseen realms.

A stone of transformation, Labradorite is a useful companion through change, imparting strength and perseverance.  It balances and protects the aura, raises consciousness and grounds spiritual energies.  Excellent for strengthening intuition - promoting psychic abilities.  Powerful in revealing the truth behind illusions, Labradorite banishes fears and insecurities, and strengthens faith in the self and trust in the universe.  It stimulates the imagination and calms an overactive mind, developing enthusiasm and new ideas.
